Rainy Day Work

100_1209-001Above: Lousy Photo of rudder blade screwed/glued/clamped on bench curing under lamps. It screwed up flat so I could do it this way .

Below is the Leeboard; it had a decided bow lengthwise so I used 3 @  5o lb elevator test weights to hold it flat while I got it screwed/glued/clamped up.  Good squeeze out all around on both pieces.  Not too tight so there is still epoxy in the joint…

100_1207-001Another shot.  No cat this time, as epoxy and cat fur are not composetic!  I mix up epoxy and squeegee it on both pieces, thinly. Then mix up a slightly thickened batch and spread it with a saw-tooth edged squeegee (about 1/8″ + teeth) on only one face, and then re-join them so all the “stripes” can squeeze out evenly.  Now we wait……

Un Abrazo,

Bill
